About RESPECT

Established in 2015, the Conference on Research in Equity and Sustained Participation in Engineering, Computing, and Technology (RESPECT) has become an important scholarly venue and academic community. Research in this area is inherently interdisciplinary; ACM RESPECT includes contributions from research in computer science education, educational leadership and policy, learning sciences, cognitive and/or social psychology, social sciences, human-computer interaction, and related disciplines. Results of ACM RESPECT are shared broadly through proceedings of peer-reviewed articles that are presented at the conference; proceedings are archival, and submitted for indexing in the IEEE Xplore digital library. Additionally, extended versions of ACM RESPECT papers have resulted in several special issues of the IEEE Computing in Science and Engineering journal. Since 2015, ACM RESPECT has grown to include over 200 attendees each year, with representation from over 200 distinct organizations.
